Wages is rebuilt as a static site, not queried as a live database. A Python script reads World Bank and ILOSTAT files from data/raw/, calculates labeled summaries, and writes HTML, JSON and a sitemap.
Data sources and processing
- GDP per person employed (constant 2021 PPP $) — World Bank SL.GDP.PCAP.EM.KD.
- Average monthly earnings of employees (2021 PPP $) — ILOSTAT EAR_EMTA_SEX_CUR_NB; both sexes, annual, in 2021 PPP dollars.
- Median monthly earnings of employees (2021 PPP $) — ILOSTAT EAR_EMTM_SEX_CUR_NB; both sexes, annual, in 2021 PPP dollars.
- ILOSTAT EAR_EMTA_SEX_ECO_CUR_NB covers ISIC Rev. 4 sections, both sexes, annually in 2021 PPP dollars. Country desks show that economy's sections. The all-country industry page shows the median of published national industry means for each section and year.
- Wage and salaried workers (% of employment) — World Bank SL.EMP.WORK.ZS; World Bank publication of an ILO modelled estimate.
- Vulnerable employment (% of employment) — World Bank SL.EMP.VULN.ZS; World Bank publication of an ILO modelled estimate.
- Employment to population ratio, ages 15+ (%) — World Bank SL.EMP.TOTL.SP.ZS; World Bank publication of an ILO modelled estimate.

- World Bank aggregate regions are excluded except the euro area (EMU), kept for the /ea/ desk.
- Taiwan remains a country desk to match the other Younivi sites. World Bank Open Data does not publish these labour series for Taiwan, so its desk shows related economies only.
- Rankings use each economy's latest available year; the final year can differ across economies.
- Source observations are not changed and missing years are not interpolated. Displayed rankings and summaries are derived from the published values.
What we do not do
We do not splice another national wage survey onto the ILOSTAT series, infer a wage from output per worker, or treat gross employee earnings as take-home pay.
Charts and tables
Charts are annual. The all-country chart initially selects the twelve highest latest readings; its legend and table allow other choices. Range buttons change only the visible period. Country desks chart that economy with related economies.

Pages load Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-6557770900386479, also listed in ads.txt). There are no reserved ad boxes in the layout, although ads may appear through the network script.
