What output per worker is

This source does not publish this series for this economy. Related figures on this desk still come from the official files.

A gap can reflect missing country or year coverage in the producer's files. Younivi does not fill it with an estimate, interpolation or older value. Check the source link and indicator code below for this economy and year.

Reading this series

This series measures labour productivity: gross domestic product divided by the number of people in employment. The unit is constant 2021 international dollars, so values are adjusted for price levels and for inflation and can be compared across economies. The figure is not a wage and not take-home pay. It is real output per person employed, before any of that output is distributed as pay, profit, rent or tax. The source is World Bank Open Data indicator SL.GDP.PCAP.EM.KD, an ILO-modelled series.

The chart plots annual observations for the economies you select; the range buttons shorten the window and the legend or table adds and removes lines. The ranked table shows each economy’s latest published year, and those years differ. Read the change within one economy before comparing levels across economies, because working hours, industry mix and capital intensity all move the ratio. Modelled estimates are revised when national accounts or labour-force data change, so a rebuild can print a different past value.

About this desk

Taiwan is a comparison desk. World Bank does not publish these labour series for Taiwan, and ILOSTAT earnings coverage is uneven. Only available producer-published observations appear.

Output per worker and employment-share indicators come from World Bank Open Data. The employment shares are ILO-modelled estimates published by the Bank. Each page gives its indicator and source link.

Chart and Table show the same observations. Range buttons change only the displayed years; use Country to switch desks. Each page names its source and licence.
